LiveBurst in detail

What are the key benefits of LiveBurst for me?

Single format consistency across platforms and devices results in easier management, operation and storage. ONVOS(TM) LiveBurst was designed to leverage bandwidth and distribution needs. Minimum bandwidth is required to stream; a 720p stream needs around 1.5Mb and you only need 3.5Mb for 1080p (HD). It also does not require specialized hardware or high end system specs, since multi bitrate quality generation gets done automatically in the cloud.

What benefits will the end user experience?

Our approach to live streaming will make your life easier, by using multi bitrate everywhere we make sure that you are watchable under different circumstances. Windows or Mac, Tablet or Mobile, HD or 180p for low bandwidth seminaries. For all devises that already support HSL the integration is trivial, natively or over flash, you will be seen.

What are the benefits of using HLS only?

HLS allows the distribution of live video though CDN, this gives unique advantages to HLS, not only bulletproofing the live transmission from lack of bandwidth scenarios that occur at peak user loads but also allows your content to be nearer to its final consumer allowing you to achieve lower load times.

What settings does the live transmission of LiveBurst uses?

Your LiveBurst instance works for you like this: you stream your source content, let say HD (e.g. 1080p / 3.5Mbps) and everything else is automated. Your instance creates the remaining qualities 720p (2000kbps), 360p (1000kbps), 250p (560kbps) 180p (300kbps) and Audio-Only (64kbps). At this point, your content is playable.

What are the monetization standards that LiveBurst supports?

Either on HTML5 or Flash we provide plugins and player compatible with VAST. For more information about which ad-networks we support, please contact us.

How LiveBurst solves HLS delivery to any device?

To make it easy and accessible for developers we work with Open Source players for HTML5 or FLASH. For HTML5 we have chosen VideoJS, and for Flash OSMF (Open Source Media Framework). Client detection allows LiveBurst to decide where and when to deploy either the HTML5 or Flash player according to the scenario. For example, for Safari in OSX or Mobile Devies, VideoJS is the perfect fit. For desktop browsers with no native HLS support (Chrome, Firefox, IE, Opera, etc) Flash OSMF is the perfect alternative.
